I’ve heard many times, we don’t just want “change.” We want change that makes sense! I agree.

We want jobs and economic stability; sanity in taxing and spending;higher ethical standards; and a community we can be proud to call home.

Those are my goals. But I’m not asking you to believe me simply because I’m saying it. I’m offering my conservative record:

• In 2006, I was the only commissioner who opposed the 23%increase in property taxes.
• The same year, I stood alone in opposing $250+ million in debt we couldn’t afford.
• When proponents of the Venues had the votes to “build them all, and build them now,” I offered the amendment that said we would only build what we could afford.

I also earned a reputation for uncovering waste, including $1 million for a boardwalk that was accessible only from private property, and millions of dollars in “sweetheart deals” that robbed taxpayers of needed road improvements.

If a proven record is important to you, I ask for your vote.
